Scenting Permissions/Opt-In (Duplicity)

OPT-IN: SCENT IDENTIFICATION

Leona has been trained with the physical ability to smell and identify magic in his world— and can also just generally tell scents similar to (but weaker than) how a lion would. In canon he is able to identify species as well, in that he is able to tell humans from fae and beastmen and mers. He has to get in close and sniff on ya, but he doesn't have any particular shame about doing so.

If you'd like him to be able to detect anything about a character's identity, opt-in below and tell me what you'd like him to know. Leona doesn't seem to be able to trail people by their scents; he can only identify them when in their proximity.

<b>Name:</b> <b>Magic:</b> Y/N, detail what you want him to be able to identify OF that magic to the degree YOU are comfortable with. he is not impervious to magical resistance, so feel free to limit what he can identify or go ahead and let him know it all if you want, too. he'd better at identifying how *strong* people's magic is than he would be at detecting what *kind* of magic people are using from other worlds, if it helps. <b>Species:</b> human? not human? you can also be as specific as you want here. <b>Extras:</B> any other particular scent notes you want him to pick up? maybe your character always wears a specific perfume; list what you want. he might not be able to identify brands, species, or magics that he isn't familiar with, but might be able to pick up that there is something unique about your character's scent compared to others. <b>Sounds:</b> (optional!) Leona can also hear particularly well, but doesn't seem to be attuned to anything in particular. but if there's something that you want me to remember about your character's voice (ex. they exclusively whisper; their voice doesn't match their appearance; there is a particular audio difference that can't be conveyed in text) feel free to list it here too.

Name: Takashi Natsume
Magic: Yes. Supernatural/Spiritual type, or simply sensing that it's very strong. In Duplicity he also wished for other magical ability such as summoning elements, but all he can summon is varying types of lube.
Species: Human, though his cat or fox-like eyes hint at inhuman in his family line.
Extras: His spiritual aura typically smells attractive/delicious to supernatural types, unsure how this would translate for Leona.
Sounds: N/A

Name: Idia Shroud
Magic: Yes. Good old Twisted Wonderland/NRC based, but with extras on top now. Still 'designed' in TWST fashion, but learned from those of other magic realms (create item), or self taught to add extras he's seen others in TWST do (levitation).
Species: Cursed human and ???
Extras: The same old scent Idia had, but more 'aired out' since less in his room. Whatever vape juice he is choosing to use that day/week. And blot. The smell of blot lingering to him which wasn't quite there before, or stronger than it was ever before.
Sounds: If he catch Idia really angry/raging may hear traces of his OB voice static.

Name: Rook Hunt
Magic: The faint, pleasantly neutral scent of sunshine and spring breeze, nearly impossible to pinpoint when you're actually outside with him. How strong is his magic, really? What kind is it inclined to be? Who knows! Rook is as unnervingly good at consciously controlling and concealing his magic as he is his emotions, vital signs, and footsteps.
Species: Prooooobably human? We assume???
Extras: There's an almost unnatural lack of scent notes Rook carries with him, compared to most other people. There's no fragrance in his toiletries, his cosmetics, his skin care products--he's even diligent about brushing his teeth and showering off traces of strongly scented foods or places he visits. He just..... smells like a person, faint though that might be, and like wherever he happens to be at that moment. It's easier to blend in that way, isn't it?
Sounds: His footsteps are almost always instinctively concealed, even in public, given his habit of sneaking up on people. In contrast, his voice almost always sounds cheerful and theatrical--it's when he gets quiet and/or serious that it's obvious something is Wrong.

Name: Kalim Al-Asim
Magic: I think it’s fair to say he can identify Kalim’s magic! We can chat about identify it vs. his potential, since that does seem to be an open canon question. Is one’s magic abilities fixed? Are they able to grow and expand? It’s not quite clear given how sometimes magic is taken as a fixed quantity, sometimes it’s not. And I’m not doing anything crazy to mess with that premise right now. I’m not really assigning a smell to it since I think it is fair to say it’s a separate scent
Species: SO human
Extras: I think it is fair to say that the additional scents he wears in canon might not be as present here, given he really doesn’t have the money to lather things on. But it’s fair to say that his natural scent is pretty warm and sweet— jasmine, cinnamon, probably some hints of citrus fruit? From a baseline human smell, but enough for Leona to distinguish him in a small crowd.
Sounds: Kalim does not know what quiet is and hates it. He still has jewelry that clinks and is loud by default so…
